Arcane S2
A lot of people consider this season to be bad due to the actions of the characters but I think that's missing the forest for the trees. If you take the characterization as intentional (which I do) then it shows how weak Vi is to join up with the cops, and how naive Caitlyn is to act as she does. I don't think the cops are presented positively I think everyone is presented to be flawed and have issues, including all the factions. Admittedly, I also believe the exploration of classism in S1 was lacking and superficial so I wasn't too shocked that it became kind of centrist near the end. This show is more about the character dynamics and relationships that happen because of the plot than any sort of sociopolitical message IMO.
However the season had a lot of pacing problems where everything felt super rushed, barely any downtime to develop the characters outside their roles in the main story. The ending and main antagonistic force feels like it came out of nowhere because of this, and it somewhat reminds me of how Final Fantasy 7 drops its ecoterrorism angle when Sephiroth comes into the picture as a world-ending antagonistic force.
Regardless I did like it, I just wish it had more time to present its ideas.
My favorite characters are Jinx and Mel still, and I was mad at how Jayce took over as a main character in S2 against Viktor cause I find him incredibly bland. Girls rule boys drool or whatever.
